Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her career in the industry of commercial seafood in 1999. That year, she worked as a fisherman on Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut boat. It was transformed into a fish tender. Bossard is married to Aritan. They have now come together and have claimed their respective industries. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of renewable seafood resources. Otolith was created in Philadelphia in the year 2000 by Bella Bossard, now mother to two kids with ages of 3 and 1 Bossard. In 2007, Bossard, mother of two children Bella aged 3 and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia after a trip from Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard and her children Andre 10, and Isabella 12 make their annual return to Southeast Alaska as deckhands to catch wild salmon in summer. They use hooks and line to catch their fish before joining Aritan for local processors for a period of two months. They then continue to expand their direct seafood product sales through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard has been an anchor/MMJ on News 12 The Bronx since November 2015 and News 12 Brooklyn. She's obsessed with telling compelling stories and highlighting all the good things taking place in the areas she works for.
